Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
For our Manufacturing, Assembly and Field Services sites, we are currently looking for an EHS Specialist, based in Gran Canaria for a temporary assignment (Maternity substitution of 6 months).

He/she will:
-Provide EHS Leadership for Water & Process Technologies Services and workshop activities in the Canary Islands;
-Evaluate EHS risks and challenges for new projects and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies;
-Develop and review completed site-specific safety plans with project management and customers;
-Manage any EHS issues that may arise during job site or workshop activities;
-Lead EHS programs for Water and Process Technologies Canary Islands based operations;
-Develop and update EHS programs and procedures ensuring compliance with all local regulations and GE requirements;
-Coordinate and provide training for Water & Process employees; -Manage environmental aspects of operations;
-Investigate safety/environmental incidents conducting root cause analysis and driving implementation of corrective actions;
-Keep close contacts with Water & Process Technologies EHS HQ.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Degree in EHS, engineering or other EHS-related field;
- Excellent leadership and communication skills;
- 2+ years EHS experience, including operations at customers job sites;
- Knowledge of local EHS regulations and of most widely used international standards;
-Fluent Spanish and English skills

Desired:
-Working knowledge of GE EHS management systems.
