He looks like he fits the mold of what the Chargers seem to like from the DT position. He has above average speed/burst from the DT position and likes to penetrate upfield. I think we are all still hoping that the team brings in Johnathan Hankins Youth Tyrell Williams Jersey , but the team needed more bodies at DT either way. Plus, it looks like he was in high demand, 3 teams put in waiver requests for him.At LB the Chargers brought in Emmanuel Ellerbee. Ellerbee is hyper athletic, at 230lbs he had a 42” vertical, 10’1” broad jump, 4.58 40 yard dash. His final 2 years at Rice he totaled 239 tackles. This preseason for the Falcons he had 12 tackles. Like McGill, he fits the mold of the what the Chargers are trying to do, get faster. It’s interesting to see that the team waived Hayes Pullard to open the spot for him. Pullard had a pretty outstanding preseason and is obviously EXTREMELY familiar with the system but obviously he is getting a bit long in the tooth. I’d suspect both players will probably be inactive week 1 however both of them do come in at relatively thin positions, especially DT where Corey Liuget will be suspended, rookie Justin Jones is banged up and didn’t play in the preseason, and Darius Philon is banged up.
