PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Atlanta Braves are savoring their turnaround.Freddie Freeman hit three doubles in a four-hit performance and drove in three runs as the Braves kept up their push for home-field advantage in the playoffs Matt Holliday Jersey , routing the Philadelphia Phillies 10-2 Friday night. The NL East champion Braves improved to 90-70, coming off three straight seasons of at least 90 losses. They will face the NL West champion in the best-of-five Division Series — Colorado (90-70) leads that division and holds the tiebreaker over the Braves to host Game 1.“This year has been unbelievable,” manager Brian Snitker said. “What we’ve accomplished, how we’ve grow, these guys should be proud of themselves. Ninety wins is hard to do. It speaks volumes to these players.”Johan Camargo, who homered, and Ronald Acuna Jr. each had three hits for Atlanta. Mike Foltynewicz pitched five strong innings, a week after helping the Braves beat Philadelphia to clinch their crown.“It’s been absolutely incredible,” Freeman said. “Every time we got knocked down, we got right back.”Rhys Hoskins homered in the ninth for the Phillies, who dropped their ninth straight game to guarantee a losing season for the sixth straight year. They have been outscored 70-21 during the skid, including 49-9 over the last five.Following games on Aug. 7, Philadelphia led Atlanta by 1 ½ games for first place in the NL East, standing 15 games above .500. But the Phillies (78-82) are 14-33 since and have fallen to third place Austin Romine Jersey , 12 games behind the Braves, and four games under .500.Manager Gabe Kapler was soundly booed throughout the evening. As is his wont, Kapler focused hard on the positives and praised the way the Phillies battled to the end.“We didn’t play well enough to win tonight’s baseball game and we’ve been playing terrible baseball,” Kapler said. “That’s why we’ve lost a lot of games. Not because we haven’t fought or because anybody quit.”Foltynewicz (13-10) allowed one run on one hit with nine strikeouts and no walks.“It was a good way for him to finish the regular season and get ready for the next step,” Snitker said.Jerad Eickhoff (0-1) made his first start since last Aug. 30 and tied a franchise record held by Curt Schilling and Hall of Famer Steve Carlton by striking out seven straight batters. The right-hander followed his seventh strikeout by surrendering Camargo’s solo homer in the fourth and a single by Ozzie Albies, ending his night.Kapler heard it from the crowd of 24,306 when he removed Eickhoff after just 56 pitches and for subsequent pitching changes. Eickhoff’s season ended last year due to nerve irritation in his right hand and he was sidelined until Sept. 2 of this season due to a right lat strain. He allowed two runs on five hits with eight strikeouts and no walks in 3 1/3 innings.“It would have been irresponsible to push him significantly beyond what he was ready for,” Kapler said. After Eickhoff left in the fourth, the Braves scored three runs on run-scoring singles by Charlie Culberson and Acuna off Edubray Ramos.Philadelphia got a run back in the bottom half on Odubel Herrera’s RBI double. After a Phillies error in the seventh, their 122nd of the season, helped Atlanta go up 5-1, the Braves scored three more in the eighth on Freeman’s two-run double and Ender Inciarte’s RBI single.FOLTYNEWICZ’S FANSFoltynewicz finished the regular season with 202 strikeouts, becoming the sixth pitcher in Braves history to reach the 200-strikeout milestone and first since Javier Vazquez had 238 in 2009.HOSKINS’ HOMERSHoskins upped his season total to 34 homers, the most for a Phillies player since 2009 http://www.yankeesfanproshop.com/authentic-giancarlo-stanton-jersey , when Ryan Howard (45), Jayson Werth (36) and Raul Ibanez (34) all had at least that many.TRAINER’S ROOMPhillies: Philadelphia is the only team in baseball without a player on the DL. According to the Phillies, it would be the first time since at least 1994 if they finish the season without a player on the DL.UP NEXTPhillies RHP Aaron Nola (16-6, 2.45) makes his final start when he opposes Braves RHP Anibal Sanchez on Saturday night. BOSTON (AP) Ending a four-game skid seemed barely a footnote for the Philadelphia Phillies. They felt like they accomplished much more, beating the Red Sox 3-1 Tuesday night and leaving town with a split in two games against the team with the best record in the majors.”We went toe-to-toe with them both games and came out on top tonight,” said Rhys Hoskins, who went 1 for 3 and scored twice for the Phillies. It was especially gratifying for Philadelphia after losing the opener 2-1 in 13 innings Monday night.Jake Arrieta struck out seven in seven strong innings and Carlos Santana added an RBI single for a key run in the ninth after Hoskins led off with a double.Manager Gabe Kapler compared Monday’s loss to taking a punch in the face and said Tuesday’s win was an example of the young ball club’s growing confidence.”We are a bunch of fighters,” Kapler said. ”There’s a lot of grit and determination and heart in that room and those are the things we can be very proud of in this moment.”Kapler credited Arrieta for helping leading his younger teammates through the intensity of the two-game visit between divisional leaders. After the Red Sox pulled to 2-1 in the sixth, Kapler said Arrieta was adamant about coming back for the seventh and put down the Red Sox in order.”We were considering bullpen for rest of the game,” Kapler said. ”Jake almost demanded the ball.”Jorge Alfaro hit an RBI double in the second and Scott Kingery drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Carlos Santana drove in Hoskins with a single in the ninth and that was all the offense the Phillies would need despite leaving 13 on base and going 1 for 8 with runners in scoring position.”I think the story of tonight’s game was heart – everybody looking for the opportunity to put the rest of the team on their shoulders and carry them,” Kapler said.Arrieta (9-6) allowed only one run and six hits to finish July 4-0 in six starts. Tommy Hunter pitched a perfect eighth and Seranthony Dominguez closed it out for his 11th save, although he did make it interesting by walking J.D. Martinez and hitting Xander Bogaerts with a pitch to open the ninth.Martinez drove in Boston’s only run with a double in the sixth after Blake Swihart led off with a single. The Red Sox were outhit 10-6 and couldn’t rally for a second night against the Phillies’ pitching.”That was them. They were able to get ahead,” Cora said. ”Sometimes you got to give credit to the guys on the mound.”Drew Pomeranz (1-5) threw five innings and held the Phillies to two runs and three hits, but hurt himself with four walks and two hit batters.Maikel Franco went 2 for 3 and scored twice Philadelphia Bernie Williams Jersey , which hosts Boston for two games in two weeks. The Phillies scored first on a double to left-center by Jorge Alfaro after Franco walked with one out in the second. Philadelphia added another run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly to center by Scott Kingery. The ball wasn’t very deep and Bradley had a chance to get Franco tagging up, but his throw was slightly up the third-base line and Franco beat the tag and gave Philadelphia 2-0 lead.Ian Kinsler, making his debut for Boston after coming over in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels on Monday night, singled in the fourth.GET BACKPhiladelphia second-baseman Cesar Hernandez kept Boston from scoring in the first when he noticed Andrew Benintendi start to run from third as Boston attempted a double steal with J.D. Martinez on first.Hernandez bolted in and caught Alfaro’s throw on the infield and fired it right back home in time to get Benintendi.”When we run a redirect play, that’s exactly how we draw it up and part of the reason we run it is we have so much confidence in Cesar to execute it,” Kapler said.TRAINER’S ROOMPhillies: Added C Wilson Ramos in a trade with Tampa Bay. Ramos is on the DL with a left hamstring strain and isn’t likely to make his debut for the Phillies until mid-to-late August, general manager Matt Klentak said.Red Sox: Placed LHP Chris Sale on the DL with soreness in his throwing shoulder. The move was retroactive to Saturday and Sale could return to the rotation on Aug. 7. … Boston recalled RHP Brandon Workman from Triple-A Pawtucket.UP NEXTPhillies: RHP Nick Pivetta (6-9, 4.85 ERA) gets the start Thursday night in Philadelphia in the opener of a four-game series against the Miami Marlins.Red Sox: LHP Brian Johnson (1-3, 3.45) starts in place of injured Chris Sale on Thursday night against the New York Yankees and LHP CC Sabathia (6-4, 3.53).—
