Jamies number grades given are out of five, with five being the best mark. Jonathan Quick, Los Angeles Kings (5) - It wasnt a busy start for Quick, but he made a great blocker save on Martin St. Louis and a big right-pad save on Rick Nash. He faced three scoring chances that period and was really good on his post play early on against Mats Zuccarello and Nash. The first goal, he had no chance on the backdoor power play goal. On the Dan Boyle goal, he overplayed the shot a bit, although, it tipped off Drew Doughtys stick. He only faced three shots in the third period and made one big save on Boyle, but really, he wasnt tested at all. Overtime is where Quick stepped up. He got some luck from a post by Ryan McDonagh, but made big saves on St. Louis and none bigger then stopping Chris Kreider on a breakaway with 30 seconds left. The second overtime period was much of the same. He had a post on a deflection on the penalty kill and made a huge right-pad save. He fought the puck off with a left-pad save three minutes before the game winner. Quick faced 19 scoring chances in the game out of 30 shots and won his second Cup in three years. He faced a total of 146 shots in the series with 85 quality scoring chances. No one can dispute this guy is a gamer and a winner. Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers (5) - He was good early on and made a huge pad save three minutes into game on a deflection. The first goal against was a scramble that Justin Williams jammed in through traffic. Lundqvist faced three scoring chances that period, as well. In the second, he made a good paddle save on Jarret Stoll, good saves on Kyle Clifford and was real good with his puck-handling to help the Rangers get out of their zone. The third was a big period to keep them in the game where he faced five good scoring chances and was huge that period. In first overtime, he made two huge saves on williams with the left pad and Tyler Tofolli hit the crossbar, but Lundqvist continued to battle for his team. In the second overtime, Jeff Carter hits a post 45 seconds in and then Lundqvist made a good save on Doughty. The game-winning goal was a rebound to Alec Martinez, who is wide open at the backdoor. Frankly, Lundqvist was the only reason the series wasnt a sweep. He gave the Rangers a chance to win every night and faced a total of 194 shots, including 86 quality scoring chances. Detroit trailed by one before Kinsler sent an 81 mph slider from Jerome Williams (1-4) to left-centre for a 4-2 lead. Kinsler also had a double in his seventh straight multihit game and 33rd this season. Nick Castellanos and Eugenio Suarez both singled in the ninth before Kinsler connected. Suarez finished with three hits, including an RBI single in the fifth. Scherzer, last years AL Cy Young Award winner, gave up two runs in the first before settling in. He yielded seven hits and one walk in seven innings. Phil Coke (1-1) pitched a scoreless eighth and Joe Nathan allowed a run in the ninth before earning his 17th save in 22 chances. Astros manager Bo Porter used closer Chad Qualls to face the heart of the order in the eighth, leaving Williams, who has allowed at least one run in eight of his last 11 appearances, to pitch the ninth. Alex Presley had a two-run single in the first inning and added a solo homer in the ninth for Houston. Jose Altuve extended his tear at the plate, getting two hits with a pair of steals. It was his major league-leading 34th multihit game this season and seventh in the last 10 games. He leads the majors with 113 hits and the AL with 34 stolen bases. Houstons Brett Oberholtzer was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to make a spot start for Dallas Keuchel, who was scratched with inflammation in his left wrist. Oberholtzer allowed five hits and a run in 6 1-3 innings. Astros rookies George Springer and Jon Singleton hit bacck-to-back singles with one out in the first inning. Adam Frazier Jersey. Springer advanced to third on Singletons hit, and Singleton reached second on the throw. Presleys hit to centre field scored them both to give Houston a 2-0 lead. Castellanos drew a walk with one out in the seventh and Bryan Holaday singled to chase Oberholtzer. Suarez singled off Josh Zeid to load the bases before Rajai Davis grounded into a force at the plate. Houston left fielder L.J. Hoes sprinted to make a diving catch on a ball hit by Kinsler to end that threat. Scherzer had struck out five of six when Marwin Gonzalez singled to start the seventh. But he was caught trying to steal second. It was the third time Scherzer has fanned at least 13 in his career, and his most strikeouts since he had a career-high 15 in 2012 against Pittsburgh. NOTES: Porter said the Astros dont think the problem with Keuchel is serious and they expect him to make his next scheduled start. ... The series wraps up Sunday when Houstons Scott Feldman opposes Drew Smyly. ... Astros reliever Jake Buchanan, who picked up his first major league win Friday night, was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City to make room on the roster for Oberholtzer. ... Houston centre fielder Dexter Fowler was out of the lineup for the second straight game with tightness in his back. ... Altuve became the first player in the majors to get multiple steals in three straight games since B.J. Upton did it for the Rays in 2009. It was Altuves fifth straight game with at least one steal, which ties a franchise record. ...
